Check my tranny service procedure......just making sure!

I've looked at most of the threads having to do with tranny fluid replacement, sonnax installation, etc., but I want to run my procedure by folks just to make sure. Last summer my tranny failed about one month after I did the same service I'm about to do. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

1. First, I'm going to do a flow test to make sure pump is doing its job, then I'll drain pan.

2. Drain pan (I've got a deep B&M pan with drain plug). After draining pan, drain TC.

3. Remove pan and valve body and install sonnex and tricumulator springs (I kept these out of the rebuild tranny I put in last summer, they are going in now).

4. Reinstall valve body and new filter. Bolt up tranny pan.

5. Add 7-8 qts. of new fluid. Start the engine and shift into neutral, add fluid until fluid is to "add" mark. This will fill TC with fluid.

6. Shift trans through all gears, bring tranny to warm if possible, and bring fluid level to "full".

When my tranny failed last summer it did not overheat or show any symptoms, simply lost clutch surfaces, TC, etc...Am I missing anything with the above steps? Thanks for any input.

That does look like a good way to flush the system, I wonder how much of the old fluid remains? Maybe no more than gets mixed with the new when you follow a standard drain and refill.
