I have a 2008 F350 6.4L and I intend to clean the DPF myself. I've seen a couple of posts on here, one suggesting Seafoam, etc. I was thinking about using Gumout Carb cleaner. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

Curious to know if you were successful in cleaning the DPF?

Yes, I was, thankfully. It wasn't easy to get off, that's for sure. I used Gumout cleaner and then rinsed with hot water and let it sit upright for a day to dry completely. After installing it back on, the truck was still complaining and quickly returned to 'Reduced Engine Power' mode even after clearing the codes. I had great throughput out the tailpipe, so I took it on the highway. After 30 miles it finally switched to 'Drive to clean exhaust filter'. After another 15-20 miles, it finished.

How many miles are on your truck, and what kind of driving do you do? Just wondering at what point should I look into cleaning mine. I'm at 130K now and regens are every 200-250 unless I get cheap fuel while traveling.
