I drained my fuel bowl and replaced the fuel filter today and noticed some fine dirt at the bottom of the fuel bowl.
My plan next week is to drain the fuel bowl again, remove the fuel heater and clean the dirt out of the bottom of the bowl.
From what I can see this should be a simple repair. Is there anything I should do or look out for while doing this?
Thank you for any input on this.

I think that I would pull it off completely and redo the O rings on the drain along with replacing the fuel heater with a updated one and replace the hoses to the fuel pump.

Diesel O Rings has everything that you will need along with quick shipping at a good price.

Complete reseal is a great idea though.

I had the same problem in mine, but I used a gallon of clean diesel fuel and just poured it into the filter housing with the drain in the open position and caught all the crap in a catch can.
