The truck is an 06 F350 and when I turn the climate control on it works great for a bit then it seems like the ac just turns off and hot air starts blowing out then a minute later cold again, seems to cycle off completly for some reason. If I hit the ac button insted of the climate control the ac blows cold all the time. I ask becuase our 04 Excursion never did this.

My '05 did that some last summer. Dealer checked it and found nothing. Seems better now but the upcoming summer will tell.

Seems like the ac shuts off and the fan blows hot air for 30-60 seconds and then cold again.

Someone has to have an idea of what it could be.

That sounds like a Vacuum problem. The air that comes out is HOT? If was actually low on freon or something, it would either not cool at all, or take forever and a day to get cold. Sounds like the blend door is opening to the hot side instead of the cold side every now and then.

You need to see if the compressor clicks on when its cold. When it gets hot, you need to see that the compressor kicks off. That still doesnt sound right.

Does it do this randomly or repeatedly, when you are driving, or idling...is it on recirc or is it 'outside air'?

It does it repeatedly but only if I have it on auto climate control, doesnt matter if its on recirculate or outside air. It is worse when towing my trailer and if I hit a grade it seems blow hot air longer before going cold again. The only way to keep cold air is to have it set the temp and not use climate control. Real pain in the asss when sitting at a light and the air goes hot.
