Hope there is someone out there that can help just got a 89 F superduty every thing was going great then when I went to change gears at a light the clutch peddle just stucked to the floor no warning no noise just stuck was able to pull off into a church parking lot. I dont know what to look for, I have checked the fluid for the clutch it is full, I am able to pull the peddle back up but it is like it not engaged to anything. Hope someone can give me some direction.

Sounds like something is bypassing. Either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder. Clutch master cylinder is on the firewall and the slave cylinder is on the drivers side of the trans. If either are even a little wet that could be your problem.

check this : the lever that pushes the rod to the master cyl is just mild steel, and wears away right where the clutch cross shaft engages it .. they make a hole in the lever smaller than the splines on the cross shaft ,, so when the nut that holds it on is tightened at the factory, the hardened shaft broaches it self into the rod lever ...... after enough pushing on the pedal, the mild steel splines just wear out..... some times it looks like you've got air in the master cyl,, when what you realty have is not enough real travel from the pedal ,, not obvious at first ...... fixed one w a bad clutch this way......
check it by putting your hand up there on the end of the shaft and work the pedal slowly back and forth...

I should add that it's the lever that wears out, Not the clutch cross shaft, that's hardened. the Pin that the master cyl rod hooks to also is Not hardened ,so it wears out too, a new piece of drill rod will fix that ..I used the parts that came out of Joes truck to build the clutch pedal for my van 5 spd project, so you could fix this ..

The bracket that the clutch & brake pedal shaft goes through is also softer than the shaft, and with plastic bushings being used what you end up with is wear in the bracket, lever, and all bushings. I doubt I have much more than 75% of my full clutch travel at the slave cylinder now, eventually I'll get around to repairing and upgrading with spherical rod ends, bronze/oilite bushings, etc.

My clutch master rod hole wore elipitcal and the plastic retaining bushing would not hold any longer, as did the pin on the lever attached to the clutch shaft that attached to the rod. I replaced the lever and retaining bushing-Ford items, and picked up another clutch master rod from my local wrecking yard. In total I think I paid around $50.00 for the parts. Some of the clutch rods have the lever welded on, mine was bolted. I fought this problem for a year before I repaired it.
