Just changed clutch master cylinder and lever on clutch pedal with bushing. Been a long time since I have done anything like this, but these cylinders have no bleeder valve, unlike older trucks. So my question is, how is the best way for me to bleed the air out, or do I have to disassemble and do it?

Unclip the slave from the bellhousing, and with it hanging from the hose (everything going "uphill" from there), cycle the slave about ten times by hand. If it won't cycle by hand fairly easily, disconnect the master cylinder rod from the pedal linkage. Cheers!

This, by the way, would indicate a problem with the length of the master rod. It will cause trouble down the road (not fully engaged clutch when hot causing slippage etc). It would be a good time to fix it now. Been there. Ask me for details if you need some.

Thanks both of ya. I bled it this morning like he described and ,though a lil messy, it worked. The clutch actually feels lighter now than it has been in a long time, and drives good. Thanks again to both of ya.

quick question i beleive my slave cylinder is goin i have clutch but only at the floor to about an inch up pulled plate and clutch looks new am i right in the cylinder or is it a master cylinder problem. its not squishy at all feels good just all the way at the floor

look under your dash between the brake pedal and throttle, but above,.......look at the arm coming from the master cylinder and see if the bushing is wore out..if so, also check to see if the arm and the lever has any metal to metal wear on it....+ that was my whole problem.........clutch all at the floor...... now it feel;s like I am driving a brand new truck as far as the clutch goes.

Anytime I have the truck in the air, I'll remove the slave and clutch fork and put a dab of grease at all contact points. It might be overkill, but I measured the pedal effort @ 65 lbs when it was lubed. It goes up when it gets dry.
