So I am doing the ZF5 swap. I need some advice on a clutch to go with..I will be buying it all with solid flywheel. Look at my mods and see what you think. I will tow a fair amount 3-5k 1 day a week @ 200 miles. 11k a couple of times a year...rarely more. My research for "best fit" for what I want has me pointing to a South Bend heavy duty organic #1944-5OKHD. Rated @ 425hp and 800tq. I really don't want to spend $825 if I don't have to. I also have looked at the valair stock one rated @ 375 and 850 # NMU70263 and $530. I have heard good things about that valair...but it might not be enough. Mixed on South bend but nothing on the heavy duty version of the organic. What about Luk? I have an extremely long steep driveway that I will be backing these trailers up and will have to do it in 4lo. I don't race, sled pull or anything. Goal is to get 70k miles or more out of it...I can live with that.
Thanks

LuK was the OEM for Ford clutches, and still is for many makes.

The stock rated Valair will not hold the power your engine makes. I have 160/80 injectors with a D66 and mine slips. Get the kevlar Valair or Southbend.

Not that you are considering it but stay far away from the Napa/Advance auto perfection clutches. They are Luk stamped but are terrible. I put one in my crew cab when I converted it to a 5 speed. It is so grabby. There is literally no slip to it.
