All,

I bought an INNOVA 3100 OBDII code scan tool.

It works perfectly with my-->
2003 Jeep Wrangler
2002 Superduty
1996 Explorer
1998 GMC 3500

But not my 2003 Superduty 6 OH. All it says is-->
'ERR'
communications error

Does the 2003's and up use a special scan tool communications protocol ??
My underhood sticker reads 'OBDII'

I searched the inyernet for an OBDIII scan tool but they ain't one.

I think the 6.0L's are all CAN. Not OBD II. http://autoenginuity.com/

Look at the Innova 3130, does OBD II and CAN. About $150 on eBay. Also can do live readout and can store for printout later. Also has diesels codes.
