Looking for a little history here. We are in Poza Rica, Mexico and the roads this side of the country are bad enough to shake a person apart. My back is having a hard time with the ride. I have Rancho adjustable shocks on the front set very soft, the rears are tight to help hold down camper sway. When did Ford change to a coil spring system on the 4x4? Does the coil spring system really give that much better a ride? I also must admit that the stress level from driving down some of these roads is not helping too much. These East Coast roads are both in the worst conditions and most crowded we have experienced down here.

I will say that the added power from the Dp tuner really helps when needing to get past a double bottom trailer on a two lane road, and these look like full length guys, the rig feels like it is a quarter mile long when passing. With exception of the bad roads having a wonderful time.

When I bought my '05 I couldn't believe the difference with the coil springs up front (I believe '05 was the first year for these) It almost felt like a big car on the freeway. Haven't driven it off-road though...yet.

2005 model year. Lots of changes including coil springs in the front suspension of 4x4s. The bigger change was in towing and hauling hauling capacity (GCWR and GVWR).

You don't say, so I assume your pickup is an F-250. You don't have enough GVWR to tie onto anything except a wagon-style trailer (with no hitch weight) without exceeding the GVWR of 8,800 pounds.

The 2005-up F-250 CrewCab longbed 4x4 PSD has 10,000 GVWR. So that gives you hitch weight capacity of about 1,500 to 2,000 pounds, depending on what you haul in the truck besides hitch weight.
