I have 2003 7.3L Powerstroke Excursion. I have a 6" suspension lift and 35" Toyo MTs. I tow a 9,000lbs toy hauler with it and am putting an Edge Juice chip in it with the Attitude controller. I am also putting in MBRP 4" stainless turbo back exhaust. I was going to go with and K&N cold air intake, but was told that the oil from the filter gets sucked into the intake and gums things up. Any thoughts on this or suggestions for a better route to go to get this thing to breath?

Thanks

Is the PG7 a paper media or an oiled cloth media?

Oiled cloth...and no, the oil from the media is not gonna gum things up. The CCV breather oil is already doing an excellent job of oiling up your intake tubes.

How does the AFE stack up to the K&N FIPK?

the AFE stage-II is considered to be the "mack daddy" of air intake systems for the 7.3 superduty...and the PG7 media has more layers of material to minimize the chance of "dusting" of your engine

I have used the AFE Stage I since before the Pro Guard with no problems and no grit on the intake tubes. One of my customers just reported back to me that he can noticably feel the turbo spool up faster after installing the AFE Stage II on his '03 7.3L.

Save yourself about $200 and get an SD AIS (severe duty air intake system) from Ford or one of the sponsers here...R
