Ok ,,
the other day I started big red up and she was pluged in all night. but she stayed at 1000 rpm and won't drop from it, I think I have a bad cold start solenoid. I tryed to push it back in but no luck so any info on how to replace or solve it would be greatly appreciated, any thing will help,
thank you

Did it work correctly before, could someone have unscrewed the brass plunger thinking it was the idle screw. Try turning the brass plunger in or unplug it if you have not done so. Once the engine reaches 112*f the engine temp switch behind the upper manifold should cut power to it and the timing advance.

OK,
I unpluged it but it still is stuck out, and it did work fine, as soon as it would warm up it would kick off but now it acts like it is on all the time could my throttle indicator position be messed up.

Your Throttle Position Sensor has nothing to do with it so don't worry about that. If you removed power to the cold idle solenoid, it should retract. Can you manually retract the solenoid?

if it doesnt work and is stuck in the outward position... try to screw it in (clockwise) if that doesnt work... unbolt the bracket at which the fast idle sits on (2 7/16" bolts) then cut off the solinoid with a suitbale saw. thats what i did when mine was stuck out. turned out it got bent somehow and still works (and i cut it off! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif ) so make sure it aint bent or antyhing before messsin with it..........Gibson
