For some years I have been pulling my Airstream 22' Safari trailer with my Ford van conversion equipped with a 350cu. engine. In the past year smog parts began failing and I began removing the broken parts.

My camper van is very custom with lots of DC power inversion and is in very good shape. I would rather pull the 350 in favor of a diesel but only if expert consultation says it is practical. I would estimate that I will have to spend $500 just to get all the smog back on the 350 so that is a head start.

I will also need to find a great diesel mechanic in San Diego to do it.
Any thoughts on this project?

Hi, Bob Kiger, and Welcome! to Ford-Diesel.com.

This website has several different forums, and various subjects are "on topic" in various forums. This particular forum is reserved for discussions about the operation of www.Ford-Diesel.com. Several other forums are reserved for discussions about '99-up PowerStroke Diesel (PSD) trucks, and some are reserved for discussions about other years of Ford diesel trucks - including your E-Van if it were already a diesel. We even have one forum devoted to gas engine Fords, and one devoted to towing and hauling.

I suspect your question would best fit in the forum for General Diesel, so I'll move this topic to that forum. Look for additional responses in that forum.

Your topic might also fit in the E-Series Vans forum, so I'll put a note in that forum for those guys to look for your post in the General Diesel forum.
