i got a 06 f 250 and i noticed coolant residue around the bottle cap. i got 40 k on the truck and i have no idea what it could be

Did you or someone else recently fill the degasse bottle? If the bottle is too full it will come out around the cap.

There are a few things can cause coolant 'puking'. Head gaskets (bolt stretching/head lifting) and EGR cooler are two big ones.
In "My Home" on the yellow title bar on top, you can set up a 'signature' for your truck which may list Mods, trans (6 sp or torqueshift), anything maintenance related done previously, etc.
The search function, which many don't like, will pull up loads of info.
