My coolant was just changed (during radiator hose replacement).
The coolant that was in the engine was VC-5-SZ with the VC-8 additive.
The coolant that replaced this during the hose change was VC-7-B Gold Coolant and NO VC-8 was added.
I have had my truck continuously serviced at the Ford dealership where I purchased the truck new. I am happy with the service. My concern is that they may have made a mistake??
The VC-7 literature says "do not use this product in systems originally equipped with....the fluorescent green colored Motorcraft Premium Coolant, or with the dark green colored Motorcraft Specialty Green Engine Coolant"
Will my engine be OK with the VC-7 replacing the VC-5 and with no VC-8 added?
Thanks
John

Ford originally said not to use the Gold in vehicles equipped with conventional coolant. Then, they said it was ok and you didn't need the additive. Then, they said you did need the additive. So - what to do? Flush it and fill with what International recommends - something like Rotella ELC. Then, you can quit worrying about all the VC-BS and having to dipstick your coolant.
