I have Mr. Riley's coolant filter on my truck...I am going on vac and want to change it out. I dont have time to order one from Bob...I just checked Napa and they cross ref. the Baldwin#. Is there any reason I cannot use this filter. It says it has conditioner in it , I am running Evans coolant, will this hurt anything? Thanks in advance...

I would NOT use a filter that has the conditioner w/ Evan's Coolant.

Evan's coolant doesnot need the SCA's......

How long have you had the Baldwin filter installed? Hours/miles/ something. I ran mine for over 2 months and opened it up and it was clean.

The very worse case scenario for you would be that the filter would eventually stop flowing and not filter the coolant. So unless you can get the baldwin w/o the sca additives in it I'd simply drive on and enjoy......order some from Bob and change it out after vacation.

Enjoy the vacation, we can at times get a bit to.....overboard?....j/k but I understand your concern.......if you need a 2nd opinion, simply call Bob he's a great guy to talk truck shop.......

C-man...........

If the filter is hot to the touch it is still filtering, if it is on the cool side it is plugged and needs changing, but won't hurt anything if you have to wait.
