We have a 7.3 power stroke in a f-Super Duty service truck. Engine went through 2 gallons of coolant in past 2-days, and shows no sign of were it is going. Not in engine oil, and not showing any in exaust. engine has 115000 miles on it, also sounds like we have a knock in bottom end now. Has any one else seen this before.
Thanks

Pressure Tester

A coolant pressure tester on a cold engine is the quickest way to find external leaks. However, with that much coolant leaking and not reaching the ground, it probably is not an external leak but likely is something internal that goes into a cylinder.

Re: Pressure Tester

Check the oil. I would send off a sample to Blackstone, you can send it overnight and request a rush if you are in a hurry. I would stop driving it until you locate where it is going.

Re: Pressure Tester

It might be the heater core. When it gets to operating temp check the drain tube near the firewall on passenger side for moisture. OR... as far as the knock goes, it sounds like it could possibly be a cylinder out.

Hope it's the heater core.
