I recently did a complete coolant system flush and change to ELC on my 2002 F-250 7.3. Also changed the lower and upper radiator hoses, Riffraff Bullet thermostat housing, Motorcraft thermostat, Motorcraft inlet water pump housing and installed the Riffraff coolant filter system.
I had an aftermarket ECT sensor on the side of the water pump housing by the thermostat, but had to relocate it to the Riffraff coolant filter housing because the new coolant filter uses that tap for the hose. Since the sensor is now on the filter housing and not on the water pump housing my ECT now seems to run 12 to 15 degrees cooler. Is this normal? Thanks

Seems logical. I'd bet the coolant is loosing that much in heat before reaching the sensor.
