Hey all, 'nother question. The last couple of days I have been having a little issue. I cannot duplicate the glitch, it just happens when it happens. The engine will be running just fine, then it "hiccups" for lack of a better description. It's as if the fuel pump shut off for 1/2 a second, then it's fine. It has done it maybe 7 or 8 times. Sometimes within a few minutes of the last time, sometimes a day between hiccups. I changed the fuel filter about 5,000 miles ago. Cleaned the Pro-guard 7 today and changed the oil today (still did it twice). I have had a 2 times that it took about twice as long as usual to start. It runs just fine, plenty of power, idles steady.... I haven't checked to see if the chip has loosened, but doubt that is it. I know it is a good idea to buy a spare CPS and keep it in the glove box.... but who has $100 laying around for spare parts...

Another issue I just found out about is driver side lower ball joint is shot... How hard would that be to change? I got an estimate from my local mechanic. He suggested changing them all and going to the greasable ones. He said he would do it for about $725 including both upper and lower ball joints and a front end alignment (4X4). Does this sound fair?

Thanks! TX

One more thing, if I do need a new CPS I know to get the International one, but are there different ones? I saw in someones signature that they have the BLUE one which would lead me to believe there are a few different ones....

Almost 88,964 miles. I bought the truck about a year ago and it had new tires. The guy that traded it in probably just bought tires for the new truck and they put the takeoffs on this one because they look stock. I had heard about the front end issues, but the only thing I noticed was when driving around a bend in the road to the left at about 40 or so the wheel would kind of bump back and forth like the damper was going out. I replaced the damper, and it helped but confirmed the ball joint was bad today.

Simply put you don't want that one. It retards timing and retards the combustion event. There are literally thousands of posts on it and the end result was that the one designed for our trucks (black) is the best, and data to back it up.
