Does anyone know of a way to momentarily flash the lights on my 5th wheel on and off, without turning off the headlights?

I currently use the fourways,, I just like the idea of having a momentary switch that is able to flash the clearance lights. That fourway switch is not in a great location (for me) to be using all the time.

EZSnow on the Snowplow Contractors (registration required) has posted the wiring diagrams for momentary blinking of your running lights. I have done this mod and it works great. If you hit the switch your running lights (including trailer lights) will blink on if they are off or off if they are on. The headlights are not affected. The dash lights will flash as well which can be mildly distracting until you are used to it. I have posted links to these diagrams before but since the archive is not very functional, here it is again.

In my travels, I have scene some drivers just flash the "opposite" side as a reply. So after changing lanes, with turn signal on...just momentarily flash the opposite side a few times to show the "thanks".

I use the 4 ways usually on my Mack, but also need to wire in a "blink" function for running lights.

It is simple I you know something about wiriing. bosch relay power threw and switch by toggle.for the trailer lights. and you nust have the trailer tail light working when you flash the clerence lights that means you must take the clerence lights off the running lights.Or in most states you will get a ticket.

I'm not so sure that letstalksnow is still registration-required, but even if it is, it's a good group of folks who like to help each other out. It's a little quiet this time of year, but around september it'll get cooking real good.

If you have any questions about the mod, I'd be glad to answer. If you don't want to register over there, I posted the diagrams in my album.

The cool part about this mod is that the single button will always do the opposite of the headlight switch. You don't have to flick the switch up at nite and down in the day, just push the button. Nor do you have to turn on another switch to activate your parking lights. Also, and this may be the best part, is that the full current is no longer flowing through the headlight (or any other) switch. It flows straight from the battery and through relays.

Side-effects may include:
1. Dash lights cycle with parking lights.
2. Fog lights cycle with parking lights.
3. Cannot interrupt parking lights that have been activated by automatic headlamp system.

I used a "always on" momentary switch. I tapped into the trailer marker light wire from the distribution box under the hood. Mounted the switch by the headlight switch. Push the button trailer lights go out.

EDIT:I always tow with the parking lights on. Hence the trailer marker lights are on. If you tow with no lights during the day then this isn't for you,but it will for you at night when your lights are on.

I always just use my flashers to say "thanks" when someone lets me in.

It is simple I(if) you know something about wiriing(wiring).(Use a) bosch relay power threw(through) and switch by toggle for the trailer lights. You nust (must) have the trailer tail light(s) working when you flash the clerence(clearance) lights. That means you must take the clerence(clearance) lights off the running(tail) lights, or in most states you will get a ticket.
