At the 30,000 miles service, I saw that the drive coupler off the back of the transmission was cracking.

This is what they use in place of a U joint at the back of the transmission. It is commonly called a Guibo coupler. Our van runs almost all highway miles and not a big load typically, but this happened quite early. Our Sprinter has the same kind of coupler and it has 275,000 miles with no problems and this is a common coupler in European rigs. Maybe we got a bad one, maybe something wasn't assembled correctly, maybe with the power curve of the engine, it's not lasting.

Regardless, be sure to check your Guibo before it's out of warranty.

120,00 miles and I have it scheduled for it's third coupler replacement. First one at about 35,000, second one about 70,000 and this one 120,000, though I have let this one run a bit longer than the last ones.

Also did the rear brakes at 100,000 miles but the fronts look like they could go to 200,000
