In 1988 Ford had a huge problem with paint peeling, they even repainted my F150 for FREE, but I haven't heard anything about newer vehicles. I would take it to the dealer and see what Ferd will do about it. Don't be to nice!!
The outermost deperession on either side of the roof has hair line cracks with some flaking on my truck. It seems like there is some type of filling in that outermost depression, an epoxy of some type?
a co-worker had a major body rot issue behind the weather stripping on the top of the door frames of his '99

Mine has the same problem in the outer "tracks" on the roof above the windows. I have been monitoring them and no corrosion or rust is starting. So I am hoping that it is just the clearcoat or something. I'm not over concerned at this point and just use a little extra wax up there when I detail the truck.
My truck has the original paint and I have little cracks all over the hood also. I was also wondering *** the deal is with that. I would imagine that it will just peel off eventually.

My 99 has the same problem. I wondered if its whats causing my wet carpet on the passenger side floor board after it rains??????
The seam sealer in that joint expands & contracts more than the steel. that why the paint cracks there...It should not be leaking there , the sealer is very thick.... I would suspect the windshield or the clearence lite....
