Anyone have one of these in their E40D? If so, what do you think?
Here are the specs - Low-Stall, High Capacity Gas & Diesel, Size: 12 inch Bolt pattern: 11 1/2 inch Engine: Diesel only Brazed impeller: Y , Brazed Turbine: Y , Bearings: 1, Washers: 2 Notes: All 110-K applications with 6 mounting studs.

I have only upgraded intake, exhaust, shimmed FPR, and Evo programmer. Don't plan on injectors unless the current ones crap out and then maybe I'll spend the $$ to do a major trans upgrade. I'm just loking at something to get me by for the rest of the year - Thanks!

Greenguy, I have been running that TC for two years, mostly pulling 8K lb. 5th wheel through northwest hills and mountains. At the same time I installed the TC I installed (W/trans upside down!) a TransGo shift kit W/front pump mod and sonnax valve. The shift kit is the one before the Tugger came out. My trans went from feeling like mush and not shifting the same two times in a row to consistently shifting like a T400 or Torqueflight! I think this TC is basically a 4R100 multi-disc but what I like is it has the E40D drain plug, at least the one I have does. Hope this helps, Randy

Thanks for the info. I noticed in your pics that you cut some holes to ventilate the TC, have you noticed it helping temps? I thought about some sort of ducting to direct more air onto the tranny but that's as far as I've gotten.

Honestly didn't notice any difference. I have also been thinking of ways to ram-air into the housing, maybe a couple of 90 degree bends of 2" exhaust pipe welded to each side of the inspection cover, one facing forward one to the rear, intake and exhaust, also using the natural airflow from the spinning TC to help???
