Thought some might find this useful. You can get a DC clamp on ammeter now for a fairly reasonable price. Sears has one for $60.00, I just got one from them on line, seems to work pretty well. Accuracy for DC amps is +/- 3.5% at worst, better for most levels. Much easier than setting up an in-line shut for finding current drains.

Here's a link: Sears.com

This one is also a True-RMS DMM with 800DCA clamp, and I've seen it in the $30-60 range:

That Sears one looks like a good deal. So I browsed over to the link to check it out. It showed up at $60 until I put in my zip code and POOF! the price goes up to $70. So much for free shipping. Everybody thinks things are worth more in Alaska. :icon_mad: $10 more on a $60 is more than a 15% markup. It's highway robbery, I tell ya! :rawr: It'd cost me less to send it to a relative down in "America" and have them resend it to me via USPS. Sorry, rant off.
