2010 f250 6.4 4x4. when I bought truck it had 37's on stock wheels with leveling kit. Put factory size tires back on it and now I have the death wobble! Didn't have problem with big tires, would have thought problem would have been with big tire not stock. This pisses me off. Any suggestions would be help full.

Almost with a certainty, it's your tracbar.. the drag link.and the bar not being parallel cause bump steer which matures into the dreaded death wobble..

I rec a pmf brand bar... Trevor's quality is unsurpassed... Matched, maybe, but not defeated. Google him up and bolt that rascal on, and your problems are behind you.

My 08 F350 did the wobble after I put a leveling kit on it. The tire where the stock 275-65-20.

I then put 325-6-20 DuraTrac on the same wheels. Road smoother, handled better and death wobble GONE !

Soooooo if it took the leveling kit off would I still need the track bar? Since I replaced the tire I've thought about removing the leveling kit. Only reason I haven't is because I can't find rear ubolts for my truck. Ford wants 50.00 each for them and I ain't paying that.

If it's a 4x4, yes. Convert it to a twin I beam 2wd and you can do away with the track bar.

I just started getting death wobble on my 2010 250 4x4 120k on it running stock size tires and height..every thing is tight...but the shocks are shot and the drivers side fwd cab bushing is shot. Gonna replace the shocks and all the cab bushings and see what happens, after I finish my remote start..should have had the installer do that..lol..:read: Ill let you know if that fixes it

I believe when the OP asked about still needing the track bar, he meant the " upgraded PMF" track bar ---- not converting his 4wd to a 2wd........

Well, finally put new shocks on last week and it the truck handles a little better, but im not sure that fixed it. Yesterday I rotated the tires and made sure they all were at 65psi and the truck rides like it did last year..very good, just havent been on the highway yet at 70mph. I dont feel anything in the steering wheel when I hit a pothole at 50mph now.

I'm driving a hour tonight to the Flyers game and im gonna aim for every hole I can find and see what happens..everything in the front end was tight...maybe one of my tires is out of whack..we shall see

If it still does it I'd check the track bar bushings first, and then proceed to ball joints, etc. The bushings for the track bar are relatively cheap. Replaced mine when I had the death wobble and not a problem since.

Every single truck that we've fixed with the famed Death Wobble has had a worn out track bar ball joint.

That's right, there's a ball joint at the lower end of the track bar. The Motorcraft replacement joint is about $75 and if you've got the right tools, it's pretty easy to do. That and a good steering stabilizer and it's gooder than new. Don't forget to check the ball joints and tie rod ends, but most of the time, you'll find a loose track bar ball joint.

I installed an adjutable PMF track bar Saturday... I didn't have wobble, but I had what I would describe as a funky wiggle on certain types of chatter sections that was getting progressively worse as time went on.... :) I don't anymore.. every joint checked out but the trackbar, and it only showed itself on the truck by a slightly unseated boot...

there is a big arse heim joint in PMF's bar that'll serve me well, I'm willing to bet the farm on it. I have a slight deviation from parallel between it and the draglink, but it doesn't show itself (or hasn't yet, anyway) in handling.

My truck handled like new last night hitting every bump I could fine. Im still gonna replace the trac bar bushing because it has 120k on it and its easy to do. I did have a TPM sensor fault come on..first time ever, but when I stopped at a light it went off and didnt come back on yet..we shall see
