HAVING LOTS OF PROBLEMS. F550 - 6.7 Diesel mfg date of 06/2013. I have had problems with this vehicle back to 2014 when purchased new. Seems the ox sensor keeps causing a "check engine" light, easy to reset but it has been in the shop 9 times in 6 years and they still can't fix it. I purchased a "program delete" kit to work on different areas of the truck and figure if I can find the problem like this, but the Mini Maxx Tuner keeps showing "unrecognized part number." I tried contacting Bully Dog and their cust service (lack thereof) is useless even though the unit has a 1 year warranty. Bully dog unit was purchased Oct 2021. I have also tried the XRT Pro - Diesel Downloader and both units do the same thing - "unrecognized part number." SUGGESTIONS Thanks Jerry in Texas

**BTW - (diff veh) I had a start issue with a 2011 F450 and my local Baytown Ford dealer worked on the truck off and on for over 2 years and they were unable to fix an intermittent start problem. I had noticed that when the starter would not engage, that the a/c fan would not run also. Once the a/c fan would run, the vehicle would then start just fine. $23 relay in fuse box under hood in front of driver - FIXED and zero problems with that vehicle since.

Maybe repost this somewhere other than in off-road racing. Unless, of course, there really is a motorhome race series.

Since you apparently bought this new, and it has been in the shop for this problem without resolution, I suggest you contact the regional rep for assistance.

Are you still dealing with Baytown? Maybe try a dealer on the west side of Houston.

Thanks - off road is the best place to post this since it deals with "delete" that is not legal for street use. Only one Ford shop in the Houston area will work on the vehicle since it is a motorhome. Yup, really.... Numerous times I asked the West Side of Houston dealer to get a "field tech" that could fix the problem and they never did. I then filed a Dist Court Law Suit against Ford myself, without a Lawyer, served their company, was then contacted by Ford's Atty, sent it back to the shop, "Field Tech" then showed up and they claimed to have fixed it. Two months later, it is not fixed and the light came on again. BTW - they actually paid me a settlement fee for my trouble. I am tired of taking it to the shop and just want the check engine light to not come on every 100-500 miles. SUGGESTIONS? Off road folks might know about delete kits since I have 2 of them and the program will not load. Thanks - Jerry in Texas
Baytown Ford? Ha, ha, and NEVER since their (non) mechanics could not even fix a problem with my Ford pick up truck that I fixed myself with a simple relay. I told them it was most likely a relay and they flat would not listen to a customer.

First of all there is a recall and I believe it should cover your 6.7. its a reprogram to fix issues like yours. It gives you a additional year on some exhaust parts. Contact your dealer.
next, the sometimes start problem could be the connection attached to the E brake bracket. Its a big connection that sometimes comes lose. unhook it and hook it back up taking care not to bend the pins. Then attach that wire to something other than that bracket. That may solve some issues you have.

Download Forscan from here
Then get a adapter. I prefer a wired adapter I got mine off amazon and I hate using them but they have the one I wanted. There are threads on the subject on what you can do with Forscan. I didn't change much in my truck depending on the year you can change things like fog lights on with high beams. I can clear codes and read them as well. Maybe your code reader isn't as powerful as forscan is. Did you check the wires by the E brake bracket?

**SAY WHAT? Is that the item I have been looking for? :) Are you saying that this plug in can read and change engine info. (I already have something that will read and reset codes) I need something that will allow me to change the parameters. I have fought this issue with Ford for 8 years. Coach has been in shop 9 times and they are not able to fix it. There is only one shop in Houston that will work on a F550 due to size of vehicle. Ford was unhappy when I filed the Law Suit and their attorney even tried to tell me the warranty was out... ha, ha, NO IT IS NOT~! Look up cust satisfaction info #xxx and the warranty was extended.... He later accepted my info, they tried again to fix it and even paid me some money to go away. Sadly, it is still not fixed. PLEASE let me know if your item will work since I have a slightly older Win Lap Top and would be glad to try this. Software included or do I need other software? Thanks Jerry in Texas and praying this is the answer I have been looking for. :)
