Got my intercooler Saturday......

Only thing wrong with it was DHL treated it like ACE VENTURA in his first vid. LOL /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

HERE isa front pic and HERE is a side shot of it.

Not sure who did the welding on the peice but it is defintely TOP NOTCH, a good quality peice and well worth the money spent on an aftercooler.

Once again Mr. Lott and NATE D. have made a big impression with the way he conducts business with me--fast and quality. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

Beans kit is also top of the line--figured I neeeded a high flowing intercooler for this HAIR DRYER and Here again. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

Those are some nice toys!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Every time I see one of those DI coolers, it makes me want one even more. Oh well, maybe by the end of the summer I'll scrounge up enough cash to get one. There are a few other things on "the list" before that one.

not quite ,that there is a real turbo /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

GT45, I presume? or is it just a 42? I'll bet whatever it is, it has an "R" designation after it.

I'm sensing some sort of collaborative effort here since bdp's website doesn't have "a real turbo" listed . . .

You're such a tease! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif

Speak up, man! No need for decoder rings. There's a blasted picture and somebody'll figger it out sooner or later!

About all I know is that compressor housing looks huge in comparison to the EH . . .

Ill report back tommorow on the turbo--dont wanna give out false info, or maybe BEAN himself will chime in. But its not a ball bearing and its not a H2E. The shaft is like twice what a H2E shaft is......

This I know though there are about 5 different exhaust housings to choose from so if I dont like one ill try another. Gonna see what drive pressures and whatnot are first then maybe try some others.

AS for the DI intercooler. That thing weighs atleast twice what the 6L cooler weighs. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

42 without the R.

Well thank you sir, but you dodged the question.

Imagine that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bleh.gif

Collaboration? - that would be great for the 7.3 diesel world.

Seriously, what better combo than DI, BDP, BWD, DP-Tuner, & OH! Wait, we could never get them to agree on a freakin' transmission! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Was that just recognition from experience? Or do you know something (else) you're not sharing?

YADA, Yada, yada.

Yes, we all know Snow White has run one of these in ancient history and we know you have much experience with the GT42 designation.

You still didn't (directly) answer the question. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Just a bunch of stupid big power really /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Its more my weekend go out to eat in vehicle anymore. I just like to get from point A--to--B REALLY fast and have fun with all the rest of the diesels on the way.

Well see what a handshaker can do at the track--If this single disc clutch dont like it then ill stick in a kevlar twin disc.

catdiesel,

Thanks much for the update. Don't tell me you don't know what you bought? If'n you got that kinda' money layin' 'round, send me some and I'll get one o' them there turbos too!

Five exhaust housings, huh? Care to elaborate. Some of us here just like to soak up info and become true IDE's.

If DI's intercooler weighs so much, that would explain the cost, but how're you gonna get traction with all that weight on the front end? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif

Prolly Stick a fuel tank in the rear and unhook the sway bar for frontal liftage.... and hair spray on the tires LOL /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I know what I bought just dont know the "correct" model name.

Ill ellaborate more when I can get some info without me messing it up.

My biggest selling point on getting DI intercooler was based on the FACTS of BLOWBY and his testimonials. Of course Ill do my own when its ready though he at normal elevations /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My previous post was sponsored by DI:

possible side effects include...nausia at WOT, liver damage during celebration of purchase, menstrual cramps when the wife finds out, internal bleeding of the wallet and shortening of breath.., use at your own risk.

That isnt a GT42, not even Garrett. That one in perticular isnt DHRA street class legal, inducer is 3" and rated at about 1550cfm. We will have the kits up on the website soon but they are not quite ready for production but the kits will allow for most large frame turbos to be mounted to it, with this turbo we have an adapter so that you reuse a stock style 4" down pipe with no modification. We can do custom turbos for it for with anywhere from 1300cfm to over 1750cfm.

I think Cat will have a nice runner. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
