First of all let me say thanks! I have lurked on this forum for years finding ways to keep my 2000 F-250 running. Many problems have been fixed by searching this forum and Ford Truck Enthusiasts.
My truck started running bad the other day and I felt it was probably the in-tank filter screens, so I dropped the tank and figured it would be a good time to do the Hutch mod. When I opened the tank up I found the black plastic foot laying in pieces in the bottom of the tank. I need to know where I might find one-I'm afraid I may only be able to buy the whole assy from Ford? If I cant buy just that part what would you recommend I use instead? And I was unable to take a measurement of the lengthof the assy because it was broken so what should I use for a measurement? Maybe someone remembers what the measurement was when they did the mod?

OK I went to Ford today and picked up the pick up for my pick up lol ! anyway
How about the measurement for the pick up to the bottom of the tank?I'm guessing about 3/8ths of an inch? I could'nt measure the old one because it was broke.

The new foot will only slide up the pick up tube so far and then there is a shoulder internal that it will 'bottom out" on. Then go ahead and tighten the clamp and you're ok. Or, just mark where the tube is that is still left and clamped onto the pick up and slide the new foot up to that point.

One thing to keep in mind, since the tank is down and opened up for the Hutch mod, make sure you get out all the small pieces of the pick up foor, so there is no chance of them getting sucked up.

The pickup should be drilled out and a new stainless tube should be pushed completely through so the alternate inlet on the side of the pick up is closed - at least in the directions Ive read (Guzzles Page ) The new tube is 12" long and I need to cut it to the correct length-Should the pick up touch the bottom of the tank?

OK, I misunderstood.....you're eliminating the black foot. I misread....I read the Hutch mod as the Harpoon mod...MY mistake.

I think Guzzles page tells the measurement, but if not I think there is another write up on the ITP site...Strictly Diesel I know they have a nice step by step for their kit.

No, it should not touch the bottom of the tank, from the look of Strictly Diesel's install sheet, the totallength with the old pick up foot to the bottom the top of the sender is around 13 3/4". Take a look at this. Unfortunately I don't know how far from the bottom of the tank it is.

Thanks I measured from the top of the tank to the bottom and left the pick up about 1/4 in from the bottom of the tank.
But I've put it all back together and the truck runs just like it did before I took it apart.
Rough Idle and lack of power. I disconnected the icp and it ran the same way but the connector was oily. I will probably get a fuel pressure guage tommorow. No check engine light so I'm assuming fuel issue still?

Did you blow out the line going between the pump and tank? I had the foot deteriorate on me, and it plugged the feed line.
