Has anyone tried to retrofit one of the new Donaldson PowerCore air filters from the 6L PSD, or the 1999-2003 Ford AIS Severe Duty Air Box that uses the same filter, to a PRE-1999 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel? Specifically a 1997.

I was considering doing a Tymar intake on my 97 F250. Bu the more I see/read abou this Donaldson PowerCore air filter, the more I want to try to adapt it to my intake instead. Has anyone tried this yet. Ford & Donaldson make a retrofit kit to put the PowerCore into the 1999-2003 7.3L PSD. I need something to do the same for a 1995-1997. Anyone?

do you know they cost like $150 from the dealer? why would you want to do that, its not better than a k&n or any other performance filter.
