On my 1999.5 F350 I am having issues with my door locks. They don't have enough power to lock or unlock and if i hit lock or un lock a few times the run out of power completly. Anyone else had this problem? What could I do to fix it? I know that all the locks get power from the diver switch, well I think so.

Thanks, Matt

weak door locks

Known problem on a 2000 at least. The lock motor has a resistor in it. There is a fix, just cant remember where to find it right off hand. You take the accuator out open it up replace the resistor with a small metal piece. Very easy. Search youtube or google several vids about it out there. The first one will take you about 1 hr total, second less then 20 minutes. Did all four of mine and several buddies and all doors work normal and have for over a year now. Mine would not unlock but locked normal.

Here's a link to one of the threads that dealt with taking the actuators apart and putting the tin foil doo dad thing in it. Three of my four locks aren't working and it seemed like almost everybody has success with this but I tried it on two of mine and it didn't do anything. I guess I'm going to have to replace mine whenever I get around to it.

Thanks I will look into that and give it a shot. I will not be replacing them if there not fixable. Those things are real expensive.
