On a recent road trip through Death Valley and Utah carrying my 1200 pound Four Wheel camper, I kept having to completely floor the go pedal to get the truck to shift out of overdrive on uphill grades. Going between 60-70mph (about 1,900 rpm's) the EGT's would start getting a bit high (1,100+) until I would make it kick down to a lower gear. Then the EGT's would drop to below 1,000. The tow/haul button doesn't seem to do anything if I'm going over 55mph. I am running the "Tow Performance" tune on my Flashpaq, and I don't want to go back to the stock tune. Is there any communication between the transmission and the various sensors on the truck that let it know it's lugging too much and the EGT's are too high?

There is no EGT input. The transmission downshifts purely based on what is in the shift tables in the software. If it doesn't shift when it should, you need better tunes.
