ok so i installed my chip lastnight. HOOOOLLLLLYYYYYYYY crap is it awsome. my face hurts from the smile i had. but i have some concerns.
1. boost hits 25 some times when i shift up hill.
2. when i put it on stock mode it runs like crap then kinda clears up
3. it takes longer to start. i keep it in 80eco when i shut down. (is that ok)

Sounds like you had the same reaction i did when i first drove mine after my DP experience.I read somewhere that you need to let your engine warm up to operating temp before you start to change the chips positions.When you put it stock does the idle down for a sec or two then come back up?The boost i beleive if you don't go over 25 lbs alot you should be good.Anyways welcome to the Dp Tuner club.

My DP chip is on its way so I'll be grinnin right along with you next week.
From what I've read its fine to shut down and start up in any chip setting except for when its cold out and then it's recommended to start up in stock mode until it warms up.

You guys are going to make it real hard for me to work today. I just got my chip last night. I am now going to be worthless all day thinking about it. I am really excited to see how the new DP tunes with big oil burns and my new Stealth pump wake my truck up.

[/ QUOTE ]oh god u got some serious power then. im stock and it made me look like a bada**. i raced a dodge and he has some serious money in his truck(banks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/vomit.gif) and i raced him he was beating me but he was passing me slooowwwwlllyyy. so i say $50intake,$50exhaust,and $300chip. and i can keep up with him.

Fellers all i can say is you will really enjoy your new toy alot! just make sure you clean them there contacts real good and oyu sholdn't have a problem.Mine wasn't as clean as i thoght it was and i lost contact and i guess the no start kicked in and i was dead in the water.I pulled it cleaned good and no problems since.

I think I would slow down on the racing unless you have gotten that pyro that you didn't have a week ago. The tranny and boost gauges aren't going to save you engine due to EGTs. You're putting out some high EGTs going with 25# of boost with a stock exhaust. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif just my opinion!

Also, Banks has good stuff from what I hear, the only problem is the price. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]yah i know im taking it easy im getting my pyro sometime soon. i just dont have the cash. i rarely hit 25 i just did it like twice going up hill and floored. iknow to be careful. i just dont know how to install the pyro im scared of screwing something up.

Where is the best place to get a DP from price wise?? And do they work with the auto tranny? Does it change anything in the way the tranny performes?

I have been kicking it around for a while about buying one....

[/ QUOTE ]i got mine from itp i only got two programs and it was 334. yeah it shifts better if u ask me. it shifts real firm and fast.

Just work with Jody and he will suggest some things. He will want to know if you have a stock trans or not. VB installed, etc. He will program it to maximize what you have. Even if stock, your shifting will be better.

Fellas, all I can say is Jody is gooooooooood!!! Just got the DP tunes installed. I am still shaking. I was running edge evolution stacked with juice prior to this and I have to say, 80E beats anything the other two programs could muster up. Shifts awsome. Only problem now is I think a new turbo will be needed soon. I get up to 28-30psi before I even know what is going on. Also, I have to pay attention to egt's a bit. Minor problems that can be fixed with more $$$$$$. Needless to say I am pretty satisfied so far. I think I will probably go thru a tank of go juice this weekend just lighting it up.

I am saying you are going to kick youself for not buying a DP tuner long ago. Night and day difference. Another thing I noticed is it actually made my AFE stage II sound different. You can really hear the air being sucked in. If you like that kind of thing. Could be just my imagination too since I was so giddy during my first drive.

I have been taking it easy, for fuel mileage reasons (last three fill-ups, I averaged 20.75 mpg in 80e). I set the cruise on 68mph and the BMW's and the like go by doing 80mph. I just laugh to myself and think how they have no idea what I have under the hood. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif
