I just got my 4 position chip back from Jody about a week ago. I had him adjust the chip because i had a transmission put in my pickup with a transgo shift kit and before the transmission was stock. He charged me to do this. Does anyone know if he usually charges to do this, from what I got from this website before he would do this without a fee. I didn't change the programs on the chip. I know you guys will say just get ahold of Jody but I guess he is in the middle of moving right now. What are your guys thoughts?

I would say, no such thing as a free lunch.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif... He's in business to make money, the time he spent on yours he could have been burning a new chip for someone elses truck. So, I'd say it would a normal thing.

Ditto... No one gives away time... If the chip was not right in the first place that is one thing, but you added the tranny to it. Jody had no control over that...

The way I understand it;

If there is a problem with the tuning/chip then there is no charge for adjustments made to fix it.

If you make modifciations to the truck that require the tuning to be tweaked, then there is a charge for it.

Which makes sense to me, if you look at it from the business mans point of view it's the only way to justify the work you do.

Answered? I just had mine reburned about 1 1/2 months ago because I installed a new BTS VB and a TC with front pump mods. I was glad to pay the little he charged me then AND I'll be happy to pay him again once my injectors get here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif Gonna play then you have to pay! With that said when I bought my chip from him we had some problems with the programing and he paid to overnight me a diferent chip/pcm.

I got mine about two weeks ago and I did pay extra for "modified stock for trans". But whatever the cost was it was worth every penny.

Jody is as honest as the day is long, but he is still is business and like what was already explained to you, his time is money unless it was something that wasn't right out of the box. Were not talking a house payment here!
