The local drag strip on Friday’s is now having a " run what ya brung" night. I thought it would be cool to take my truck up for a few runs.

2000 F-250 powerstroke

7.3L
AFE intake
Super chips microtuner
Straight piped
Rotella T synthetic oil
running 23.5 Lbs of boost on my X monitor
(And im sure im forgetting something)

My question for you experts is..

Should i run in 4hi for added traction or not.
If no, leave the hubs disengaged?
Overdrive on or off?

Race in 4hi and manually lock the hubs. Just leave tranny in drive like normal. Don't be afraid to launch with some boost. I was launching at 25psi on Sunday.

I did it last night and whooped on my roomies 12 valve. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif I have less mods than you, but all the imprts were afraid of losing to an 8k truck, so I ran my roomy a few times and headed home.

what is the difference in et when you compare a 2wd just mash it and go run against a 4wheel hi powerbraked full boosted run? Charles

What were your 1/4 mile ET's?

theres a farm boy with a duramax who wants to run me.. his is dually and mines not.. so he might have me off the start ( 4.10 ratio)

If the tree and times were used on Fridays, I'd tell ya......unfortuantely they are cheap here on Fridays, and it's just a flagger! The official line is "It's Friday Night Street Race, we try to make it as much like a street race as possible so people come off the streets and do it where it's safe." Garbage! I'd rather know my times then have a "street race" ambiance!
