I noticed a puddle under my truck the other day, so I checked it out and found it was fuel from the top of the engine. I just cleaned off the engine fairly well and fired it up and let it idle. I can't actually see a leak, but if I had to guess, I'd say it is IN FRONT OF the fuel pump. The fuel pump looks okay, and I get 48 PSI at idle. Where do I go from here? Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Chris

Hey Chris, give a look @ the bottom of the stem of the fuel cannister drain lever, o-ring goes bad there. trough the cannister grommet for the fuel heater....goes without saying hoses and clamps. I think I've read for the real tough to find leaks guys have cleaned up and spread baby powder to find it....good luck with it.....

I've pulled the fuel filter and checked the canister, although the bowl was full so I doubt that it was leaking, and I'm now replacing all of the hoses I can get to. Any special hose I need to ask for at the store? Is it just fuel injection hose? And how in the hell do you get the fuel filter cannister out? I've removed the two bolts, loosened the FPR, and the small black hose from the bottom/front, but it still seems pretty well stuck in there. I've got one more hose to get off and then maybe it will come loose. Jeez! I love my Powerstroke until I have to work on it!
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Since your email address is posted on your home page, I sent you an article I wrote about replacing the fuel pump which might be of some help to you when removing the filter canister.

Good luck,

Well... I replaced all the hoses and it still appears to be leaking, so it MUST be the pump, huh? I guess I know what I'm doing next Saturday...

You got it.

Rodney (BlueMule) also pasted the article into this thread which anyone could easily copy/paste into their very own WORD document.
