hey guys,

my driver's side window started acting up today. the auto express down feature stopped working. it still goes down if i hold it down and goes up normally.

any ideas? the motor seems fine. i'm guessing it is the switch on the arm rest.

Contact cleaner. Just grab hold of that piece that the switches and pull up, it pops off. Unplug all the plugs, and spray contact cleaner on the connectors. If that doesn't work, it is probably the switches. Hmmmmm......could be a relay though.

Mine did the same, then finally window would not lower.
Took it apart and found a small part worn under the rocker switch.
Spring loaded part that makes contact to raise/lower window

Replaced the same part from passenger switch and would work fine.

Got a brand new complete unit on ebay for $50.
Don't know what the dealer wants for one, can only imagine.

Wonder if you can just get the worn piece from the dealer ?
But I have 2 good ones to give up.(keeping the third for later) Check it out, if it's the case I'll mail you one.

thanks for the reply.

i took apart the box down to the circuit board and cleaned the contacts with alchohol. when i put it back together the express down worked again but now the window up was intermittent. took it apart again hoping to get a better connection. this time the window would not go up at all.

i'm starting to suspect it is the rocker switch.

how do you get the cap off of the rocker switch.
