I wanted to see how much work replacing the driveshaft carrier bearing in my CC LB F350 is going to be. The actual driveshaft removal is not going to be an issue at all but will the actual bearing assembly need to be put on by a driveshaft shop? I think it may also be a good time to get the unit rebalanced.

Thanks for any input.

Replaced mine in my driveway without special tools, however, I will tell you it was a PITA and took about 2 hours. Your mileage will vary. I shop that can press off and press on the the bearing would be worth it IMHO.

hmm, thanks. I may call around to a few driveshaft shops before I jump into it and all to see what they'd want to press it on/off. The rest is not going to be an issue. At least I know tho that it can be done (as you did yours in the driveway) with out taking it to a shop.

thanks
