Hi all, new to the forum. Thank you for any input in advance.

I’m looking at a ‘99 International 4700 with a DT 466. Mileage is 13,500 but hours is 3,500. Truck was used by an electric company. Thoughts or concerns on the hours? I went and saw it. Fired up easy and idled good. Had a few inactive codes in the history, low oil pressure was one, low coolant may have been another.

Again, thank you for any input!

It's a great motor. Practically indestructible. Being a non-emissions motor, the idling time isn't as concerning. I'd drive it and then look at oil pressure at idle when hot and make sure you can't get it to overheat.

Thank you for your reply. I will try to schedule a test drive. They said they would warranty the drivetrain for 3 months. They are asking 13.5k for a cab chassis.

Coolant consumption would be an indicator that a sleeve is leaking, correct?

One possibility. Cavitation would be another. Both very unlikely in this engine.
