I have been looking around the net and forums trying to locate some additional information. Most of what I find relates to pickups instead of medium duty trucks. Here it goes....
I have a 1991 international 4700 that has a very short wheelbase. When I bought it in January the drive tires were new. Since I use it as a replacement for a farm pickup, I turn a lot, much like city delivery driving in most occasions. So far I have put only 4K miles on it. The innermost part of the inside duals look like they have been chewed off. The drive axle weight is only, 7100 lbs, with trailer attached. I am considering taking off the inside duals and leaving the outside duals as they track better to the steer axle. Has anyone seen issues related to doing this?
