Hey all. I just picked up a second stack to match the one I already have, but I have some questions about using it. I know the most common way to run duals is to put a crossover pipe in the bed. That's just not an option for me, which is why I originally just ran a single stack. I've seen a few guys that did the Bronco tank mod and removed their front tank, and ran duals behind the frame where it's normally blocked by said front tank. I cant really do that either, because I dont have anywhere to put the spare tire.

My question is, are there any real problems with just running the exhaust under the front fuel tank then up to the stack? I'm concerned about the heat from the exhaust getting the fuel hot, but I'm not sure if the ehxaust would really get hot enough to cause any issues. I dont think it would be a really big deal, because our semi trucks at work often have the exhaust run right up behind the aluminum fuel tanks. The only other thing I could think of would be clearance issues with the driveshaft if I put the Y pipe right there where the frame goes up to the bed.

I'm considering putting the Y pipe under the transmission, then running the driver's side out under the frame, then along the outside of the frame back to the front of the bed. I'd rather split it behind the cab though, to cut down on in cab noise. Would I have any major issues if I ran the exhaust under the fuel tank, or should I look for a different way to route the exhaust?

Its just me but I don't beleive you'll have any more noise splitting up under the tranny and running it on the out side of the frame back I would pic the highest place so the exhaust doesn't hang down any lower then needed

I had the same thought on my stack set up and i did it. I have the other pipe running under the diesel tank and have not had a problem with it at all. I have it "Y'd" under the box and have the stacks run straight up through the box. I am planning on re-doing the stacks because you can see the pipe alittle if you run it under the front tank. I have no cab noise but when i open my sliding window in the back i now know how loud the system really is. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

here are about 30 pics of both my stack setups. Stacks
the fuel gets plenty hot from just running through the heads, and the exhaust is far enought away that it will never effect the fuel, plus if you have a skid plate that makes even more for the heat to try and get though.

Thanks for the help, guys. Josh, did you have any issues with the driveshaft being in the way? How are you re-doing your stacks? With my truck straight piped, I'm getting a pretty good bit of in- cab noise.

Thanks
