Hi all,
Can the front differential cover be removed without taking off whatever steering component that runs in front of it? (center link?) If not, how difficult is it to take it off? I need to change the fluid, and I don't like the suck-it-out-the-fill-hole method.

Thanks

I would say surely so. I had to take it off to change gears but surely not for an oil change. You don't need any real room away from the diff just room to slide the cover down or up or side to side. The tie-rod wouldn't be that close I wouldn't think. Unless you've rammed something and bent it up into the cover. And I always do take it off to change the fluid for the same reason. The sucker method leaves all the loose metal in the bottom.
