Ok , sick of no e-brake, so priced the cable. Napa has front one for like $20. The guy said that the front ones are the same on all models of stroke for 94. Is that true, are cc, cclb,rc all the same lenght? That means the difference would have to be in the length of the cables from the union with front cable to the rear drums? Also is there any tricks to replacing the front e-brake cable - my manual has sketchy details on it. Is the front one the one that usually stretches? Thanks ahead of time.

not much help with the install, but my experience is that with e cables, go to the ford store. Most other stuff is junk and siezes in a few months in this part of the world. Ford cables are one thing worth paying more for.

Get the factory ones from someplace like Powerstrokeshop.com (aftermarket ones went south in a hurry ... no problems with the stock ones). They should be about $30 each for the rears, about $20 or so for the intermediate cable, and don't know how much for the front one (there are 4 cables total for the e-brake). I don't have the part number for the front one, but here are the rest:

Parking Brake Cables
(Ford) F6TZ-2A635-C (Driver’s Side)
(Ford) F6TZ-2A635-CC (Passenger Side)
(Ford) F2TZ-2A793-A (Intermediate Cable)

Cheers!

One quick note:

I went through the stock cables as well until I actually used the e-brake all the time. If you don't use it it will seize. Mind you, I am in adverse conditions and the cables are usually coated in mud more than not.

I bought 2 new Raybestos brand cables for the rear of my truck from a guy on Ebay. Even including shipping it was half the price the locals wanted for the same brand name. Work great. Better quality cables than some of the major chains carry.
I second that "Use it or lose it" philosophy. I can't drive a stick without a functioning e-brake. I even thought about hooking up a line lock for an e-brake.
