Won't downshift on uphill grade under load. Changed fluid, filter, stock trans, no codes. It also is slugish when towing (uphill), but I think that's a gear ratio problem. I have 36" tall tires with a stock gear.

Have you reprogrammed the speedometer to go with those 36's? Cheers!

Does the speedo read the speed accurately (same goes for the odometer and miles)? Cheers!

The same speed sensor that runs the speedometer and odometer are also used to input the speed to the transmission controller.

I spoke to the original owner and no he didn't reprogram the computer. I'll get that done as soon as my edge programmer comes in. In the meantime, I changed the fluid in the trans, new filter and added lucas additive. Man that cleared it right up. It downs shifts and shifts much smoother now. I guess the solinoids where gummed up after all.
