After a flawless 2500-mile trip towing a 9000lb travel trailer, the truck went downhill fast.

The day after the trip, truck is slow to start, then runs very rough won't run over 50mph.

Took it to the local Ford dealer for a injector test. Results #3 injector bad, high resistance on the injector wiring harness, Injector control module (ICM) has a code. Tech said most of the time once a ICM sets a code it can not be cleared, but may perform ok with check engine light on.

Hard for me to understand how all this happens at once, from running perfect to running like crap. Is the dealer diagnosis correct?
If so I will do the work myself. Local injector shop for #3, he has good reputation. I had no luck finding the ICM on websites mentioned here at dieselstop help please. Best place for injector harness I assume is International dealer, help with part number please.

Early 99, 122K, oil changed every 5K, Fuel filter every 10K
Only mod is a heavy duty air filter kit from Ford.
Previous repairs include 2 injectors replaced, 1 CPS, waterpump

I would almost bet it is one problem. UVCH! 20 bucks at International, part # 1830844C93. Couple hours to change.

Now thats what I want to hear! Does the UVCH from International include everything for both sides or do I need two of them?

I'd agree with the other guys. UVC Harness. They get brittle from the heat, and the clips come undone.

I'm calling BS on both counts.
IDM (Injector Driver Module is the correct terminology) codes CAN generally be cleared once the problem is fixed (there are a few exceptions, like the "dead IDM" code), and it usually runs like crap with an IDM code, typically caused by the UVC harness or something else outside the IDM.

Three, one for each side and a spare in the glove box. Gotta get a bigger glove box. No room for gloves.

You were right on!

R&R roadside UVCH no change, R&R curbside UVCH and runs great. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

Harness problem was that the retaining lock on the main connection to the valve cover gasket was not there and the connection was about half way out. Best I can figure 1 1/2 years ago I had dealer replace two injectors and tech must have broken the retaining lock, just took it that long to work it's way out far enough to cause trouble.
This one connection caused these codes: P0267, P1293, P1294, P1316, P0500, P1670, P1242, P1211, P0263, P0269, P0275

Thanks to everyone who helped.

Glad you got it fixed, glad it was an easy fix, well pretty easy.
