Easy Way To Generate a Manufacturer Specific DTC Code For Testing Purposes?

Is there any easy way to generate a Ford specific DTC code on my 2000 Ford F-250 7.3L diesel. I am trying to determine if my scanner will grab them.

Pull your ICP sensor wire and start the truck - instant code!
The light will go out but the code lingers harmlessly. I wouldn't go to ford to have it erased. If it bothers you that it's there, disconnect your batteries for a bit.
I don't believe it will. I'm not 100% sure, but I think those codes are stored differently than the PCM codes and are not volatile.
I would think oil temperature sensor code or a CPS code would be generic. You could easily unplug those two and get codes to set and see if you could read them. I'm with bugman on the reader though. I'd toss it or take it back.
