Easy Way To Generate a Manufacturer Specific DTC Code For Testing Purposes?

Is there any easy way to generate a Ford specific DTC code on my 2000 Ford F-250 7.3L diesel. I am trying to determine if my scanner will grab them.

If I pull it and get the code, but my scanner does not read/erase it, will the code go away once I plug it back in or will I have to take it to Ford to have it erased?

I pulled the ICP sensor and as you said, the service engine soon light came on. My scanner shows no codes for OBD2 and ABS. It's says no response from the engine. Would the ICP show up on a general OBD2 scan or is it manufacturer specific? Is there a general OBD2 code I can easily trip?
