I am still weighing the pros and cons of replacing my pedestal with a non EBPV pedestal.

Has anyone that lives in cold climates, had any regrets after deleting the ebpv from their pedestal?

That depends on what you call cold climate png .
I have deleted my ebpv and have had no problems to this date, the temp here goes down to -4 -5 Celsius (probably not as cold as you) .
I do have Hi-idle to help warm up on the cold days.
What temp do you see on your cold days George ?

Lot's of guy's running around here with out the EBV without any issues or complaints. Like Goog's said, high idle in a chip will help out warm up quicker.

If you like to start the truck and let it idle then don't get rid of it.

But if you get in and go there will be no difference.

One less oil leak and getting rid if the butterfly lowers egts another 75 degrees

It can get from -17C to -31C.

I like the idea of one less oil leak.
I also get in and go. No warmup.

Thanks to all of you for the info. I needed help in deciding.

Now when I pull the motor to change the oil pan;

I have the turbo pedestal and orings, glow plugs (only because of mileage), CNC oil lines, HPOP plug

Now to decide on Walker muffler or 4" exhaust and up pipes.

Truck runs great now. This is all preventive maintenance.

-31 C in Chicago ?
Windchill doesn't count ;-)

I just got my Walker BTM installed today and its worth every penny. Not really any louder but more noticeable spool up and a nice improvement to throttle response.

I did this mod last fall. I think the coldest it got here last winter was -18°F. I didn't notice much difference in how fast it warmed up.
