This mod works well for a DIY. Problem is it sets a DTC 0236 because the MAP sensor thinks the exhaust is restricted. Well yea!!! Anyone got a work around to prevent this code while using this mod or do I just live with it?

Did you do the Radio Shack home made system? If so, what fuse did you use for the system? I read the instructions for doing this mod and didn't find any suggestions for the fuse amp rating.

I was thinking a 2.5 amp fuse.

TIA

Pretty sure you mean exhaust back pressure sensor, not the map sensor. I didn't have that problem, probably because my exhaust back pressure sensor was totally plugged up with soot and wasn't reading anything anyway. At least you know yours is working /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif You can buy or make a resistor to replace the sensor and trick the computer into seeing 10 or 15 pounds of backpressure all the time. Other than that, not sure what you can do.

You can reference EBP sensor off of the map boost pressure line instead of exhaust unless you are running over about 50 psi boost to your map sensor.

I have the EBV brake and it's never thrown a code? I can't think of anything in the harness that would keep it from doing so. I can't remember anyone else bringing it up either. Could it be how it's wired?

The truck sets a DTC 0236. As I understand it, this means there is a restricted intake, exhaust, or the hose is off to the MAP sensor. This stands to reason because when the EBPV closes, it restricts the exhaust. That is how it works to slow you down. I can clear the code & it won't set again until I use the Ex Brake. Yes, it's the Radio Shack version. I used the setup from BAZ's site. According to my info, the EBP sensor won't set this code. It appears that the EBP sensor/circuit would set a 0470 series code. There are no dash warning lights activated when this code is set. I found it when doing a routine check to see if anything was there. The MAP sensor is doing its job as designed. Just wondered if any of you had seen this & what you did or didn't do about it.

Mine never throws that code either. EBP sensor tube is clear and the sensor itself tested OK awhile back. I haven't heard of anyone else with this error. Maybe your sensor is faulty? Or something different with your PCM code /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
