I have tried two different edge boxes now and same problem, after the truck is warm and shut down, it won't start. I have to recycle the glow plugs 2-5 times.

Edge says they have never heard of this. I like everything about the box except this annoying problem. Has anybody ever had this or heard of it?

If they can't fix it, I'm going to try someone elses product.

I have never heard of anyone having that problem before. Are you sure it's the Edge box's fault? Have you unplugged it to see if the truck still has the same problem with out it? If not, that's what I would try. That will tell you if it's a problem with the box or the truck. The problem you are having makes no sense as to why it would be the box.

What do you mean? Dosn't turn over? Turns over, but won't ignite? After you recylce the glow plugs and it does start, do you get a big puff of smoke? If so, what color?

There are a lot of reasons for no starts....we need more info to help you.

As mentioned above, I would remove th Edge and confirm you don't have the problem with it off. Are you sure your Edge install is correct? Check all of the connections, make sure they are correct (not just well connectd, but connected to the right place).

It does turn over, just won't fire. We have double checked the connections a couple of times. There is a little puff of grayish smoke, but it is the same whether cold starting (fires right up) or warm starting with two or three tries.

I have not taken the box off yet but I will try that. My performance dealer checked for any codes on the truck and didn't come up with anything.

I started with an '05 box and never had a problem starting, but I felt that the power was not that good. So my dealer let me try an 04' version. I thought it was better but then I had this problem starting. A week ago he got in some new ones and so we tried that, and it doesn't seem to do it as bad but still happens.

It seems to change when I change the box so that is why I'm thinking that is the problem, but like I said I will try to run it stock for a while.

I took the box off and ran it stock. I got it good and warm then shut it down, after five minutes, started right up. I ate dinner, about an hour, started right up. Drove home, shut it down, started it right away with no problem.

I am 100% sure the box is causing the problem. So now what is the solution? I can't beleive that my truck is the only one out there that won't accept the edge product.

Also, after running for about a month with the box and then changing to stock, I'm not that happy with the power difference. I can only feel a little bit, not the claimed 110 hp gains.

I'm pissed and confused... any suggestions? I'm thinking about this SCT that everyone's talking about.

Thats exactly what I did, after putting a new tranny in at 30K. The edge has a bad history of frying trannies. The sct makes more power and shifts perfect. Call edge and get your money back, then call Innovative.

My truck did the same thing yours did. I thought it was the box too. It wasn't the constant cranking and not starting was that the ignition key was not recognized by the truck. Cut wrong or something. I started using my spare and everything was fine. I had it at ford and my truck didn't throw any codes either.

Well it has come to my attention that a reflash could require a different box. My truck was flashed to stop an idle spike everytime you disengage the clutch at a crawl.

I was told that I could find the version of the last flash on a sticker on the radiator support. There is a sticker there but dated 03. My reflash was march of this year. How do I find out what flash is in there with out letting my dealer know I'm putting a box on it? Is there any other reason I would want that info?

I told them I need to know what flash is in there, because I am hooking up digital gauges "my edge attitude" and that it electronically reads the boost thru what is already on the truck.

Thanks, but after a phone conversation with a tech at edge, he said it dosen't matter what flash is in the truck. He told me they don't have any different programs, every box is the same.

I think now I am going to take it back.

Don't Ram Me Stroke Me- your bio says you have the Edge Juice and the SCT. Did you switch? Notice any difference between them?

I tried to call Innovative diesel a couple times today. I think I'm going to go with their box.
