What gains can I expect on my truck if I get the Edge Evo?

If I do a MapMod and run the 18k w/ it would this help any making power? I have the 11/97 so I'v been told it's the same as the early 99....

that evo is pretty good. you might spend just a little bit less to get the evo than custom programming. a 4 position chip would be alot more convienient. the only benifit with the evo is retrieving diagnostic codes.

I takes a couple minutes to reprogram your computer everytime you want to change program modes. I would do a x-position chip next time for the convenience of on-the-fly changes. Edge does give you 1/4 mile times and 0-60 times, as well as a descent code reader/eraser.

the early '99 has larger split shot injectors, a different wastegated turbo, different electonics to run them, and a new body style.

some claim mileage gains if run on a high setting, and you drive very nice. a chip with an economy setting is pretty ideal.

The truck in my sig gets 2-3 more mpg with edge evo on the highest setting with stock injecter if you keep your foot out of it but i never could do it for long but on long highway trips it did get better mpg as for power there is more but edge evo is a program for all trucks not like a custom burnt chip .

...this guy at difuser.com said he was gonna send me a Map Mod (higher boost before defueling) for my 97 OBS. Is he just blowing smoke or is there such a mod in production for our trucks?

Thanks for the replies on the evo. I'll probably just leave it in the high setting and try to be nice...

Should I run the evo with the 18k mod?
