I believe the manifold is, that is where mine is mounted gives you the most consistent temps..

The driver's side exhaust manifold is the choice location. Some install the pyro in the downpipe, you can even order some downpipes with a bung welded in from the factory, but the disadvantage of the post turbo pyro is that your not reading true exhaust temps. I have read the difference between pre and post turbo is several hundred degrees.
